International Education Curriculum
The International Education curriculum is an on-going project and is a real collaborative effort between numerous FETs that are either working on the project now, or have contributed material in the past. We are immensely proud of this project and hope that elementary schools that have a FET will consider assigning the FET a fully equipped International Education classroom so that the lessons can be delivered in the most effective manner.
Our vision is that this course, which spans from grade 3 to grade 6, will become an integral part of the school curriculum. |
Mid Elementary - Grades 3 and 4
Lessons designed for grades 3 and 4 will follow the Stage II English curriculum guidelines.
|
Upper Elementary - Grades 5 and 6
Lessons designed for grades 5 and 6 will follow the Stage III curriculum guidelines.

CLIL opportunity (Content and Language Integrated Learning)
This year, Professional Development Coordinators will work with the Taichung English Advisory Group to create materials for the curriculum with a focus on integrating content from other subjects. Within the curriculum there will be opportunities to include aspects of the Social Studies, Art, Music, PE and Home Economics curricula. Bilingual lesson plans will be written so that schools that don't have a FET will also be able to teach the International Education Curriculum in their own schools.
