Textbook Extension Track
The vast majority of local teachers will use a textbook when teaching English to their students. There are various textbook companies in Taiwan and each school may choose a different publisher. This makes it very difficult for FETs to plan a curriculum that follows the local teachers' instruction.
FETs following the textbook extension track should look at the content being covered by the textbook and plan lessons that use the same vocabulary and sentence pattern. Ideally, the lesson will involve a communicative activity that allows the students to apply their language skills in an oral/aural environment. |
The Taichung FET program promotes a philosophy of sharing materials so that all students may have access to the highest quality materials. Useful resources that may be used to help planning lessons can be found in the folders below.
Furthermore, as part of our Professional Development, Taichung FETs are required to develop complete competence-based, objective-led lessons with high quality resources that meet the standards set by the Ministry of Education.
Lessons that meet the all the criteria set by the MOE will be featured on the website soon.
