Name: Daniel Jenne Schools: GuoAn Elementary Grades Taught: 1-4 Original country: United States
Bio:I have lived in Taiwan for almost twenty years. Taiwan is a wonderful place for many reasons. My favorite thing about Taiwan is the people. Taiwanese people are very nice and trustworthy. I never worry about people being hateful or things being stolen. My favorite foods: The food is also great, especially the deep fried, unhealthy stuff. Fried tempura, fried chicken, fried rice sausage. I know it's bad for me, but it tastes so good! My favorite Taiwanese foods: Laobing, red beans cakes, danbing, and stir-fried eggplant are all great. The list of foods is endless. Location: GuoAn Elementary School is in Xitun District near Tunghai University and the Taichung Science Park. It's a large school with more than 50 classes or homerooms. There is a lot of room to run around outside, so we have lots of sports teams. We also have a lot of fantastic teachers and administrators running the place. Opportunity: I like teacher in Taiwan because the students are generally very eager to learn. I'm given a lot of freedom to be creative in my teaching, I try to make my lessons as interesting as possible. Since I teach the same lesson several times to different classes, I have been able to really fine-tune my lessons. I enjoy this because I can see my own I improvement as well as the students'. My favorite places to visit in Taiwan: My favorite place in Taiwan is in the mountains. I love camping and listening to the sounds of nature. There are very interesting animals and bugs in Taiwan the we don't have in the US. It's also very relaxing after spending so much time in the city. My favorite events with the students: My favorite thing about school is designing activities and teaching. I know that sounds boring, but I work really hard to make my lessons enjoyable for the students as well as for myself. The school carnival is always fun too, but I'm honestly happiest watching the students participate in class.
